I'm doing a wolfing/feral run for a science fair project. I had 3 of my baby norns die from gen 1 (2 stillbirths, 1 died from unknown causes at 10 minutes). I wanted to find out -why- this happened by looking at their genetics. What genes should I look at first? What commonly causes norns to be stillborn, or die young (NOT disease, genetic stuffs)?

Any help and suggestions are greatly appreciated Smile

By the way, can anyone think of a way I could have an agent(s) that would collect all eggs and NOT hatch them until I told it to, even if all norns are dead? This would be awesome! (I'm using the Eggonicer, but that will automatically lay eggs after all norns die if I set the minimum population to 1)

EDIT: This is DEVELOPMENT related because I'm going to make breeds out of my end results of 2 wolfing runs. Just so you know.

usually brain defects, missing organs, lack of genes, too many genes. also, watch out for amanora's crossbreeds,

I have no idea on the stillborns. I've lost baby norns also that way, and have never understood why. I always attributed it to some genetic defect.

About eggs: why not put them in your inventory? I do that all the time, as they can't hatch in there. Razz

Only thing I can think of to stop eggs hatching without being at your computer is to set the breeding level to zero. Norns can still lay eggs even that way. Trouble is, it isn't infinite. At some point, they stop laying. I don't know what the threshold number is.

I'm thinking about making all my norns fast agers so I can do this quicker >.< My computer is such crap that I've had to start the experiment over twice already!

Sometimes I get these stillborn that seem to be gravely mutated all over. they have pigment changes, apperance changes and are dead in a messed up pose. it's strange
